MISSION

Our mission is to advance education and cultural fluidity through compelling public art. Spoke partners with schools, cities and youth organizations to generate powerful, collaborative educational public art exhibitions. Students participate in creating art installations with international contemporary artists, enabling them to tangibly engage with their communities and cultivate creativity in an impactful way.

MEDIUM

Public art is an accessible, important form of expression that distinguishes so many of our communities. We want young people to understand and discuss why it’s important. Moreover, we want them to participate in it, express themselves and take pride in their environment. Education through public art has the ability to improve academic performance, spark innovation, foster cultural integration and increase students’ well-being. Furthermore, due to its large-scale, external setting, public art functions as a powerful mechanism to prompt public discourse and promote civic engagement.

CONTEXT

We go above and beyond content and procedural knowledge in art by providing a grand and tangible medium for artistic expression.

Our projects are co-developed and created within the specific context of each school to encourage students, faculty, families and the community to make the project a special event carefully crafted for each school's specific needs.
